Are you a student taking FIPCC this year?
Welcome to 1Health! As a student enrolled in the Foundations of Interprofessional Communication and Collaboration (FIPCC) course, you are embarking on an exciting journey in interprofessional collaboration. This orientation to interprofessional communication and collaboration is critical introduction to your role as a collaboration-ready health professional.
In the FIPCC course, you will be introduced to the concepts of team work and communication to support how you and your colleagues work together to care for patients/clients through collaborative approaches. FIPCC is a hybrid course that includes both online modules and in-person group meetings. Each of the FIPCC groups includes an interprofessional combination of 30-35 students and 1-2 facilitators. The FIPCC groups meet five times in person during fall semester 2019, in addition to completing an online module (six total sessions). During thein-person meetings, students break apart into smaller discussion groups and participate in a variety of learning activities and exercises that help to demonstrate the importance of effective communication and collaboration in the health care environment.

On each “FIPCC Friday” in Fall 2019, your group will meet from 1:30 – 3:30 p.m.:

- 10/4/2019: Teamwork & Communication
- 10/11/2019: Teamwork & Leadership
- 10/18/2019: Wellbeing & Resilience for Healthcare Professionals ONLINE SESSION
- No in-person meeting this week. Students complete an online module during this week at their own pace.
- 10/25/2019: Ethics & Professionalism
- 11/15/2019: Social Determinants of Health
1Health Database - Beginning with your participation in the FIPCC course, this database will track your participation in all 1Health interprofessional curricular and co-curricular offerings during your educational career at University of Minnesota. You will be asked to use this system to access the course assignments, view your group information and room location, and provide valuable course feedback. A record of all of your completed 1Health interprofessional curricular and co-curricular activities can be found on your homepage in the 1Health Database (upon logging in, go to the blue "My Transcript" tile on your "My 1Health Overview" homepage).
Note: You will be asked to log into the 1Health Database using your UMN Internet ID and password.
If you are a College of Saint Scholastica student participating in the FIPCC course in Duluth, you will be provided with instructions to set up a UMN guest ID in order to access the 1Health Database.
